Sterling or Silver-Plated? Check Before You Visit
Sterling has real silver value. Plated pieces have only a thin layer of silver over base metal, so they’re worth very little as metal. Look for these marks:
- Sterling: stamped “Sterling,” “925” or “.925”
- Older British sterling: hallmarks such as a lion
- Silver-plated: “EPNS,” “Silverplate,” “Quadruple Plate” or “Silver on Copper”

Do I need an appointment to sell silver?
No. Walk-ins are welcome during business hours. If you’re bringing a large collection or an estate, call ahead at 954.580.3595 so we can plan enough time.
How do you pay, and what should I bring?
We pay the same day, by cash or check depending on the amount. Please bring a valid government-issued photo ID. It’s required for every sale.
Do you buy silver-plated items?
Silver-plated pieces contain very little silver, so they’re rarely worth selling for their metal. If you’re unsure whether something is sterling or plated, bring it in and we’ll test it for free.
Can I sell just part of my silver?
Yes. Every appraisal is free and comes with no obligation, so you can sell everything, a few pieces, or nothing at all.
Is my old silver coin worth more than its melt value?
It can be. Common pre-1965 coins usually trade close to their silver value, but key dates, rare mint marks, high grades and certified coins can be worth much more. We check every coin for collectible value before making an offer.
Can I sell silver from an estate?
